it was an unforgetable trip when we four (my self, wife and two children) were as close as we could be for about 7 days. During this trip we have one porter with us to share our luggage. we met with local people and lived a slow life away from metro life. below is our day wise itinary and some photograpshs
Day 1: We started our journey on 31st may 2008 evening. We reached ISBT ( Delhi Bus Terminal ) at 7 PM and took direct bus, which started at 9 PM. ticket was Rs 375 per person, to take good seat one should reach there in time so that ticket seat number will be taken.
Day 2 : our bus reached at kund on 1st of June at 10 am. from there we took a jeep to Okhimath than again we took another and reached unyana. from Kund to okimath time was 30 minutes and from Ohimath to unayana it took us 1 hour From Unyana we started our trek immediatly and after trekking three KM we reached at Ransi at 2 PM. it was our first stay point
day 3 : after taking breakfast at Mahesha Tea joint we treked for about 6 hours and reached at our next halt Khadara at 2 PM. we crossed Gondar at 12 PM on the way to Khadara. At Gondar we had tea and snacks. at Gondar one can also stay as there 3-4 hotels ( 1-2 rooms) are available. at statyed at Panchwati hotel ( two rooms one kitchen ), it was a nice place and owner Devender Bhai was also a nice person. we enjoyed rest of the day there. kids played cricket with local children. we had a nice dinner
day 4: we started at 6 am after taking breakfast and tea. it was little tuff trek today as it was a steep climb up all the day. we didnt stop any where on the way though there were two more halt places were availble on the way one is nanu and second at mykhoma. we took Tea at mykhoma and on the way we ate titbits we had along with us. Finaly we reached our destination at 2 PM madhya maheshwar. We were right in time as it started raining at 3 PM after taking tea and some rest we took bath and than left for Temple. We enjoyed arti at temple which took around one hour, it was beutiful.
Day 5: We got ar 4:30 AM after taking tea we left for buda madhya maheshwar at 5 AM and reached there at 6 AM. IT was around 2 km climb. when we reached there it was a cloudy, chaukhamba peaks were visible behind the clouds after 30 minutes it was clear with dark blew sky as background to choukhamba we were spell bound. we did some photography, had snacks which we carried with us and at 9 AM we left that place for the Madhya maheshwar. finaly we reached khadara at 2:30 PM after co0llecting our luggage from Madhya madmaheshwar. last one hour of trek was in drizzling, we enjoyed it.
Day6: From Khandara we left at 7:30 AM and reached at ransi at 12:30 PM after having tea and collecting left away luggage from mahesha tea stall (4-5 guest rooms) we reached unyana at 2 PM. From here again we took a jeep and left for ohimath we reached okhimath at 4 PM
Day 7: stayed at Okhimath whole day enjoyed nearby temples, rest and eating
Day 8 : in the morning 5:30 am took direct bus to haridwar. From haridwar took bus for delhi and reached delhi at 11 PM
